“Going to film school as an undergraduate I saw a lot of really slick looking, professional student films that were shot immaculately and had perfect sound and yet were totally soulless. The lighting was great but they had zero life and energy. With The Ghosts I kind of set out to create a movie that would be the antithesis of those kind of films. I wanted to make a movie with a garage rock sensibility that embraced amateurism and had attitude and verve and could be loud. I wanted it to feel like a rock n roll song.”

A love letter to teenage rebellion.

Woody Allen’s newest, Midnight in Paris.

I may just see it for Michael Sheen. Whom I’ve enjoyed in everything from Frost/Nixon to 30 Rock to Tron.

That’s right, Tron. End of Line.

I’m not sure what to call it other than interactive storytelling. It’s a documentary, it’s a website, it’s a community scrapbook, it’s a digital homage, and I think it was supposed to be a book, I’m not sure.   Go to the National Film Board of Canada and check out this piece.
It’s not a UI for the control freak though, that’s for sure. There definitely is a set path for you to follow, with only limited variations. I personally would have preferred a more readily accessible outline so I knew how far in I was and how much was left. But if you think about this as a documentary, that isn’t really a luxury you’re allowed.
Either way if you have a good 5-7 minutes or so, check it out.
